Little John Portable Toilets
A family-owned portable sanitation company serving Moore and Stanly County, NC needed their first dedicated website — custom-designed, mobile-responsive, and built without agency overhead.
Background
Little John Portable Toilets is a family-run business serving Moore and Stanly County, NC. When they came to me they had no dedicated website — potential customers could find them through social media, but there was no owned web presence to direct people to, showcase services clearly, or capture leads. As a small, growing operation, they needed something that felt genuinely custom and polished without the cost of a full agency engagement.
Approach
The project was handled end-to-end as a solo engagement — from initial concept through visual design to production build. I designed a dark-themed site with custom hand-drawn illustrations that gave the brand a distinctive, memorable character fitting for a local business. The layout prioritised clarity: services are immediately scannable, contact information is visible from the header, and the primary CTA drives scheduling. Built with SvelteKit for a fast, lightweight output. Mobile responsiveness was treated as a first-class concern throughout — not retrofitted at the end — given that customers finding a local service business are often doing so from a mobile device.
Outcome
The site launched as Little John's first dedicated web presence and has remained in production since 2022. A small local business now has a professional, custom home online that accurately represents who they are and makes it easy for customers to find their services and get in touch.
